Police Station Refurbishment

The refurbishment of Yeovil police station on Horsey Lane is scheduled to begin this summer and is expected to be completed by autumn 2026.

Avon and Somerset Police says the revamp represents a significant investment in policing in Yeovil and will modernise the station to ensure the Force can deliver a service that the town and surrounding areas deserve.

As part of the upgrade, a new vehicle workshop will be built so the police vehicle fleet can be maintained locally. A new external staircase will also be constructed for the station to comply with fire safety standards.

Yeovil’s policing teams will continue to work from Brympton Way until the refurbishments have been completed.

The police enquiry office in the portacabin outside the police station on Horsey Lane will remain open while the work is ongoing.

Neighbourhood Inspector Roseanna Green says Yeovil police station needed a complete overhaul and that while their temporary offices at Brympton Way have allowed them to continue working in the town, the refurbishment will give them a long-term home that is fit for purpose, to deliver a local police service for Yeovil and South Somerset.
