Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in Yeovil. It happened on Thursday, October 27th at around 4:45 pm. The woman was attacked by two men, while walking on a footpath near Newton Road. If you can help the police, please call the non-emergency number 101.

The Leader of Somerset County Council says it is inevitable that council tax will have to go up next year. Councillor Bill Revens was commenting on the government’s autumn statement in which local authorities were told they no longer have to hold a referendum to increase the council tax by five percent. Councillor Revans says every effort will be made to keep any increase as low as possible.

Somerset's carnivals raised a record amount of money with this year's Guy Fawkes circuit. The season finished in Glastonbury at the weekend. While money is still being counted, one town received nearly £10,000 more in donations than in 2019.

A house near Ilchester, once lived in by Henry the Eighths’ right-hand man, Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, has been put up for sale. The Old Rectory at Limington has six bedrooms, four reception rooms and three bathrooms, is advertised with a guide price of £1.65 million.

Former Yeovil Town player Marcus Stewart, who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease earlier this year, has praised former rugby league player, Kevin Sinfield for running 40 miles every day for 7 days to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease.
