Households in South Somerset are being told that their waste bins might not be emptied on time this week. Somerset Waste Partnership says it’s due to a shortage of drivers and workers being off after being pinged by the NHS test and trace app.
A Yeovil woman has been involved in saving a calf from a river, using a paddleboard. Vicki Hamilton was using the paddleboard on the River Parrett when she spotted the emergency. She says the calf was had only just been born when it fell into the water.
People accessing healthcare in South Somerset are being told that they must continue to wear a face mask. While restrictions relating to Covid have been lifted, the NHS in Somerset says if people attend a GP appointment, an appointment with an optician, dentist, pharmacy or hospital appointment, a face mask or face covering must be worn.
