Go Green

Somerset Council is offering businesses practical help to reduce the amount of energy they use, which, in turn, will lead to a lower carbon footprint whilst reducing bills.

The ‘Go Green Scheme’ offers businesses expert advice to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.

The scheme is funded from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and provides opportunities for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises to better understand their energy consumption.

Lead Member for Economic Development, Planning and Assets at Somerset Council, Councillor Ros Wyke says the free energy audit supports sustainability and helps businesses to combat high-energy prices.

Harris Bros & Collard Ltd was one of the first Somerset businesses to benefit from the scheme. Company Director, Tom Travis, says the advice given, ensured that all the required documentation for their application was correct and that they’re now very much looking forward to seeing their green dream come to life.
