People in Somerset experiencing mental health issues are being encouraged to visit a new website. The Open Mental Health Alliance website lists nineteen Somerset-based organisations that provide mental health support. Speaking as part of Mental Health Week, Helen Fielden of Rethink UK says those requiring support will find all the information they need on the website.
One of Yeovil’s oldest pubs has been sold. The Pall Tavern on Silver Street, a Grade II Listed building dating back to the early 18th century closed last September. Whether the Pall Tavern will reopen as a pub or be turned into flats is unknown.
Two hundred staff at Somerset Council have been accepted for voluntary redundancy as part of attempts by the Council to avoid bankruptcy. Of those, forty-nine will each receive redundancy payments of more than one hundred thousand pounds.
