Meanwhile, Ilminster Town Council is putting up its share of the Council Tax by around £60 from April.

The owners of a dairy farm near Crewkerne have been fined £20,000 for polluting fresh water. Based at Leaze Farm, in Haselbury Plucknett, Faw Bakers Kingston Farms Ltd pleaded guilty at Taunton Magistrates Court to committing the offence at Rushywood Farm. The company further admitted a charge of failing to ensure that silage had been correctly stored.
West Chinnock Primary School on Scotts Way in West Chinnock remains closed today. The school shut last Monday following a flood with children transferring to Norton-sub-Hamdon Primary School for lessons.
