A handgun has been found abandoned on a road in Yeovil. The weapon was spotted by a passer-by on King Street wrapped in a towel. After police were called, the gun was taken away for examination. Anyone with information that could help the police is asked to call the non-emergency number 101.

Police are investigating the theft of a car in Beer Street, Yeovil. The vehicle a blue BMW 5 series was taken at around 7.45 am on Monday, March 29th. It was later found abandoned in Meadow Road after being involved in a number of minor collisions in the town.
