    Police are repeating their appeal for help in connection with an incident in which a man was found with head injuries in Ilminster. It happened in Station Road in the early hours of Wednesday, June 14th. The man claims he was attacked by another man. Police say if you witnessed what happened or can help in any other way, please call the non-emergency number 101.

    Somerset Council is asking the government for details about a proposed ban on charges to dispose of DIY waste. Currently, around a third of local authorities charge for dumping DIY waste at recycling centres. Somerset Council says it stands to lose around £100,000 a year if the government makes it free to dispose of asbestos and plasterboard.

    A new website has been launched for farmers to share their experiences. Rupert Cox, who lives in Long Sutton, is the co-ordinator of the site, Farmerados. He says it's for farmers to engage with others when they have a problem or feel isolated.

    Age UK in Somerset says a shortage of volunteers has led to elderly people living in isolation and without any regular company. The charity says it urgently needs to find fifty new volunteers to help run its befriending service.

    The voice behind the World Snooker Championships, Rob Walker, has been travelling through Somerset as he nears the end of a charity tour. Rob is cycling and running from John O’Groats to Land’s End, raising funds for the Brain Tumour Charity and in memory of three of his friends.
