A Chard man is raising thousands of pounds to buy his father a bionic arm. Del Crump lost his arm in a work accident 20 years ago. His son, Jake, says he’s raising the money to buy the bionic arm as a ‘thank you’ to his Dad for bringing him up.

A project has started to improve the diversity of habitats within Yeovil Country Park. Yeovil Rivers Community Trust has been given a grant of £6,000 to introduce aquatic benches, re-profile the bank sides, and make better the existing habitats at Dodham Brook at Ninesprings.

A Covid vaccine centre in Crewkerne is seeking volunteers for next week. The Covid hub at the Henhayes Centre is looking for volunteers to act as ‘meeters and greeters’ as people arrive for their jabs. If you’d like to volunteer, you should call the Henhayes Centre in Crewkerne.
