Figures from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government show that between January and March construction was completed on 230 new homes in South Somerset, the highest number for the quarter since records began in 2005.

A Yeovil man has been jailed for handling goods. Jamie Staite, of Grass Royal in Yeovil, received a 16 months sentence following a hearing at Taunton Crown Court.
