Yeovil Hospital has been given nearly ten million pounds of government funding to help it become more carbon neutral. The funding will enable the Trust to focus on five different projects which will help reduce carbon emissions, including putting in a new heat pump, replacing power to become a fully electric site, and replacing windows.

Plans have been submitted to add two new floor levels to a former restaurant in Yeovil town centre. The site at 66 Middle Street could see the addition of two new upper storeys to the property. According to the application, the ground floor would remain for retail. South Somerset District Council’s due to consider the application by the end of the summer.

Communities and local businesses in Somerset could benefit from seven million pounds as part of the government's national Levelling Up agenda. The County has been allocated £7.26m from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to invest between 2022 and 2025. A questionnaire on how the money should be spent is now open on the Somerset County Council website.
