    A Yeovil man has appeared in court charged with making nuisance phone 999 calls. A caravan and boat have been destroyed in a fire in Milborne Port. A former Yeovil man has pleaded guilty in court to multi-assault charges.     A Yeovil man has appeared in court charged with making nuisance phone 999 calls. The court was told that Jordan Barton of St Johns Road in Yeovil made eight calls to the police and sixty calls to the ambulance service on 999 in which he was verbally abusive towards the call handlers. Barton, who pleaded guilty to the offences, was given a community order and fined £120 by magistrates in Yeovil.

    A caravan and boat have been destroyed in a fire in Milborne Port. It happened in Oborne Road and is believed to have been caused by a nearby bonfire.

    A former Yeovil man has pleaded guilty in court to multi-assault charges. Appearing at Taunton Crown Court, Simon Massey carried out the attacks at a property in St Michael’s Avenue, Yeovil. Massey, who has since moved to Scotland, was jailed for 12 months, suspended for 2-years.

    Navy Wings, based at RNAS Yeovilton, has finally assumed ownership of the Navy’s entire fleet of historic aircraft. The charity has been in talks with the Ministry of Defence for five years about taking on ownership of the aircraft. The handover was finally concluded in a ceremony held at the Yeovilton base at the weekend. 

    A man who damaged the wing mirror of a car has appeared in court. Richard De Lange, of Queen Camel, pleaded guilty to the offence at Yeovil Magistrates Court, and was ordered to pay compensation of £468.
