A new dementia care home has been officially opened in Yeovil. The town’s Mayor, Evie Potts-Jones, cut a ribbon to launch Chestnut Lodge on Hendford Hill which has accommodation for thirty-nine residents.
New sports facilities are to be included within a major housing development planned on the outskirts of Yeovil. Wyatt Homes say it will provide four football pitches and a sports pavilion alongside the one-thousand homes that it plans to build on the Brimsmore Key Site at Brimsmore.
Staff at Yeovil Hospital, who are objecting to higher charges to park at work, have won the support of Keep Our NHS Public. The campaign group has described the new charges, which will see staff pay around forty-eight pounds a month to park on the hospital site, as unacceptable, especially at a time when health workers are striking for higher pay.
