At an earlier hearing, Mark Hankinson, of Frampton Farm, Sherborne, and former Director of the Masters of Foxhounds Association, was found guilty of intentionally encouraging huntsmen to use trail hunting as a “smokescreen” for hunting foxes. But on appeal at Southwark Crown Court Mr Hankinson was cleared of the charge.
