Merlin Helicopters built in Yeovil and fitted with the Crowsnest radar system have entered service for the first time with the Navy. The distinctive-looking helicopter, which has a large radar dome sticking out from the fuselage, provides airborne surveillance. The work on the Merlins was carried out by Leonardo in partnership with the Thales Group at Templecombe.

Government coronavirus guidance has been translated into 11 different languages in Somerset. The Community Council for Somerset carried out the work after being approached by people who, due to language differences, could not understand the lockdown rules.

A church in Somerset is trying to raise over seven thousand pounds to help replace the church clock. There’s been a clock in All Saints church tower in Martock for over a hundred years but it's showing its age.

A road near Yeovil is likely to stay shut for at least six months. Chinnock Hollow, between East Chinnock and Odcombe, was closed in February when a tree and a substantial amount of earth fell from a bank onto the road. Somerset County Council says it’s still investigating how the landslip was caused.

The Somerset Wildlife Trust says visitor numbers to its nature reserves have doubled in the last year. Now it's looking for more donations to keep these sites maintained for future visitors.
