Concern is growing for a 40-year-old Yeovil man called Matthew who has not been seen for five days. It's thought he boarded a train at Yeovil Pen Mill on Wednesday, June 1st and travelled to Brockenhurst in the New Forrest. He's not been seen or been in touch with anyone since. He's described as 5 foot 5 inches tall of a large build and has dark brown hair.

People with dementia and their carers are being asked what they want from support services in Somerset. Somerset County Council along with the NHS plan to revamp what they offer, including working more closely with specialist charities.

Town centre regeneration projects in Yeovil, Chard and Wincanton are to be subjected to closer scrutiny. It follows the first phase of the Chard regeneration scheme running over budget, and the second phase being postponed due to a lack of funds. In Yeovil, there have been long delays completing work in Westminster Street as part of the Yeovil Refresh project, while in Wincanton, work smartening up the town centre, promised for last year, has yet to start. South Somerset District Council, which oversees all three regeneration projects, have introduced changes to the three boards, responsible for each regeneration project, to ensure the schemes stay within budget and deliver the planned benefits on time.

A woman in Ilminster is celebrating 15-years running drumming workshops by converting an American school bus into a mobile venue. Organic Rhythm, a business run by Sharon Stone, is using the bus to hold interactive workshops in a variety of settings, including schools and weddings.

The operators of a proposed new Lounge Bar in Yeovil have applied for a licence for an outdoor seating area. Loungers UK Limited, which operates more than 185 sites across the country through two brands, The Lounges and The Cosy Clubs, want to open the Lounge on the corner of the High Street and King George Street, in Yeovil town centre. The business is now seeking permission for outdoor seating in front of the premises for serving food and drink.
