A Martock man who raped five women after spiking their drinks has been warned to expect a long jail sentence after being found guilty of multiple sex assaults. Exeter Crown Court was told that Tom Wade-Allison, aged 25, assaulted his victims after they’d consumed drinks that he’d mixed for them and became too drunk to fight him off. Wade-Allison, a chef by trade, had pleaded not guilty, but was convicted of nine counts of rape, one of attempted rape, three of assault. He was remanded in custody and will appear in court again for sentencing on April 15th. (Courtesy of Chard and Ilminster News)

Police are appealing for witnesses to an arson attack in Yeovil. CCTV footage of the incident, which can be seen on the Avon and Somerset Police website, shows a man setting light to a van in Lower Ream, Brympton. It happened on Saturday, March 6th, at around 10.30pm. They ask anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the Lower Ream area on that date to call the non- emergency number 101.

A big drop in urgent referrals for prostate cancer in South Somerset is being put down to the pandemic. Prostate Cancer UK says referrals across the South West dropped by 25 per cent in the past 12-months.

Yeovil Town are back in action tonight. The Glovers take on Bromley at Huish Park, kick off 7.45 pm, when they defend a run of seven successive home wins. The game is being played without spectators due to Covid restrictions but can be viewed online. To subscribe to watch go to the Yeovil Town website and click on Yeovil Town Live.
