    Plans have been approved for a giant solar farm between Yeovil and Sherborne. The government’s giving around 50 thousand pounds to local councils in Somerset to further help control the spread of coronavirus. Leonardo Helicopters has partnered with Holy Trinity Scout Group in Yeovil to create a new generation of aerospace engineers.     Plans have been approved for a giant solar farm between Yeovil and Sherborne. The site, spread over seven fields at Clifton Maybank near Bradford Abbas, will produce enough electricity to run 10,600 homes. A substation, access roads, and a two-metre security fence with CCTV monitoring will also be built.

    The government’s giving around 50 thousand pounds to local councils in Somerset to further help control the spread of coronavirus. It's part of a 12-million pound national initiative with the money in Somerset being spent on persuading rural migrant workers to have the Covid jab.

    Leonardo Helicopters has partnered with Holy Trinity Scout Group in Yeovil to create a new generation of aerospace engineers. Volunteer trainers from Leonardo are using activities and educational materials to help members of the Holy Trinity Scout Group learn about aviation and aerospace technology.

    Historic Sherborne House in Newlands, Sherborne, is set to become an arts and entertainment venue. Plans to use ground floor rooms for exhibitions, together with converting the second floor into offices, are expected to be approved later this week. The Tudor wings of the building would be transformed into a bistro and café.

    Ham Hill Country Park near Yeovil has been rated the most dog-friendly place in South Somerset. In a vote on Trip Adviser, dog owners said Ham Hill offered them good parking with plenty of open spaces for their dogs to roam in safety.
