Yeovil Town fans have been reacting to the news that Manager, Darren Sarll, has left the club after three seasons, to take over as Manager of National League side, Woking. Yeovil Town Assistant Manager, Charlie Lee, has been put in interim charge of the team for the foreseeable future.

Police are appealing for witnesses after burglars were scared off after breaking into a house in Yeovil. They broke into the property in St Mary’s Crescent late evening on Sunday, March 20th. Police say they fled empty-handed after being disturbed. If you witnessed any suspicious vehicles or people in the area of St Mary’s Crescent or Bucklers Mead Road on Sunday night you’re asked to call the non-emergency number 101.

Yeovil MP Marcus Fysh has criticised plans to change the boundaries of the Yeovil parliamentary constituency. Mr. Fysh is objecting to moving the villages of Montacute, Norton-sub-Hamdon,  Stoke-sub-Hamdon and Ham Hill into the Glastonbury and Somerton Parliamentary constituency. In his letter to the Boundary Commission, Mr. Fysh says given the villages’ close ties to Yeovil, moving them into the Glastonbury and Somerton constituency makes no sense. He suggests instead, moving Ilminster and settlements north of the A303, including South Petherton, into the new Glastonbury and Somerton seat as they don’t have such a strong and direct link with Yeovil.

The Bittern, the UK's loudest bird, is making a comeback in Somerset. Bitterns became extinct in the UK in the 1870s due to the draining of their wetland habitats for agriculture. In 1997, there were only 11 males across the whole of the country, leaving Bitterns on the edge of a second national extinction. The RSPB in Somerset says twenty breeding pairs of Bitterns have been identified nesting locally.

Plans have been submitted to build an extension at Merriott First School. The new classroom will provide accommodation for 30 pupils.
