NHS Somerset is urging people who haven't had any or all of their Covid-19 vaccinations to do so. People who haven't had their first, second or initial booster dose of the vaccine are being told that there's still time to get the jab this summer. Figures show that 91 percent of adults aged 18 and over have had at least one jab, meaning there are still almost one in ten who have not been vaccinated. Clinics and walk-ins are open locally for appointments for people aged five and over.

A report on delivering a new relief road in Chard won't be made public now until the late autumn. The Chard Eastern Relief Road will link the A358 Tatworth Road with the A30 Crewkerne Road and is designed to take pressure off the Convent Link junction in Chard town centre. The report from South Somerset District Council, setting out how the scheme will proceed, was due out last month, but it will now be October before people in Chard have the chance to comment on the route of the new road.

King Alfred's Tower at Stourhead is to reopen for its 250th anniversary. The landmark has been closed to visitors since the start of the pandemic.

A labyrinth shaped like a giant snail has been cut into the grass of a hay meadow near Langport. The RSPB has created the design to encourage people to visit Swell Wood nature reserve at Fivehead Meadow to see the wildflowers and insects.

Compton House Cricket Club, who play at Compton Park near Sherborne have been given planning permission to build a new pavilion. It will have three separate changing areas, a first-floor balcony, scoreboard and large function room and will replace the existing pavilion that is more than 100 years old.
