It happened between the A303 Podimore Roundabout and the turn off to Charlton Adam at around 8.30 pm on Sunday night as the police car was responding to an emergency call. If you witnessed the crash or, have dashcam footage, you’re asked to call the Police non-emergency number 101.
A pilot scheme involving e-scooters in Chard and Crewkerne has been scrapped. Both towns have withdrawn from the trial following numerous complaints about public safety. Chard and Crewkerne are the first towns in Somerset to exit the scheme which is part of a nationwide initiative aimed at encouraging more sustainable forms of transport in urban areas.
