Police are seeking witnesses to an incident in which the driver of a car failed to stop for police in Yeovil. It happened at around 3 pm on Tuesday, September 20th when officers suspected the driver of an orange or gold coloured Nissan GTR of driving dangerously in Watercombe Lane. The driver failed to stop for police and then turned onto West Coker Road, disappearing out of sight. If you saw the car or have dashcam footage, please call the non-emergency number 101.
An area of derelict land in Yeovil has been earmarked for a new care home. The 1.6-acre site in Highfield Road off St Michael’s Avenue is now the subject of a planning application for a new sixty-six-bedroom care home. The applicants say if approved the care home will create sixty new jobs.

It’s aiming to raise five thousand pounds with the auction which will pay to run the services for a week.
A consultation has been launched to help influence the look of Somerset’s landscape. Anyone who works with trees, including experts and non-experts, to people who walk a dog, are being asked to contribute to the survey. The questionnaire can be found under ‘Somerset Tree Consultation’ on the Mendip District Council website.
