Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a crash in Crewkerne. A heavily delayed tender process that could benefit Leonardo Helicopters is reportedly being pushed back even further by the MOD. “Significant risks” to resident’s safety have been uncovered in a report on a now-closed nursing home in Yeovil.

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a crash in Crewkerne left two people injured. The two-vehicle collision happened just after midnight on Sunday, August 27th and involved a black Peugeot Expert van and a grey BMW 166i. One person involved remains in hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

A heavily delayed tender process that could benefit Yeovil firm Leonardo is reportedly being pushed back even further by the Ministry of Defence. The local helicopter manufacturer is one of three businesses in the running to build a large fleet of new aircraft – and is already preparing for production and training staff. We’re told that the process for securing the contract should have been finalised in the autumn of last year.

“Significant risks” to resident’s safety, absent care plans and staff training have been uncovered in a report on a now-closed nursing home in Yeovil. Camelot Care took over Acacia Nursing Home in September 2016. The disciplinary hearing at the Nursing and Midwifery Council heard how the proprietor failed to implement plans to improve the standards of care, leaving residents at risk. The home was shut down in November 2018.
