Plans have been approved for a new McDonald's just off the Southfields roundabout near Ilminster. The restaurant and drive-thru will be built off Jordan's Road, to the west of the Southfields roundabout on the A303. It’s expected to create up to sixty-five new jobs, as well as employ local builders during the construction phase.
Police have released a CCTV image of two men they'd like to speak to after a man was attacked with a hammer in Yeovil. The attack happened on Henford Hill last Friday, just after 8:30 in the morning. The man suffered facial fractures and lost some teeth. The CCTV footage can be viewed on the Avon and Somerset Police website.
Drug dealers who brought heroin and cocaine into Yeovil from London have received prison sentences totalling more than 20 years. The gang of three men and two women were sentenced at Taunton Crown Court for conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
