A man has been arrested in connection with an unlicensed music event held near Bruton at the weekend. It happened near Alfred's Tower at South Brewham on Saturday night, with around 100 revellers attending. Police closed the roads leading to the location to prevent more people from getting in.

Ofsted has told St Gilda’s Catholic School in Yeovil that it needs to improve its curriculum. Following an inspection, it said learning activities did not ensure pupils learnt what was intended. St Gilda’s in Reckleford, which has 220 pupils aged between four and 11, was rated 'good' for behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and early years provision.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash involving a tractor and car in Yeovil. It happened on the A359 at Mudford Hill last Tuesday, November 5th. The road was closed between Lyde Road and Sock Hill for several hours to allow for the vehicles to be removed. If you can help, you’re asked to please call the non-emergency number 101.

In the twelve months to August, Screen Somerset says £2.8 million was spent in the County by film and TV production making films and documentaries. Accommodation providers wanting to be considered for hosting visiting actors and crews can register their details with Screen Somerset, through the Somerset Council website.
