    Somerset Council is warning motorists against scanning QR codes at payment meters at its car parks. It follows the discovery of fake QR codes being used on machines in car parks in Glastonbury and Frome to steal customer’s payment details. 

    Chard Town Council is spending £10,000 on short-term youth provision while continuing to look into what services it could provide for young people in the longer term. It follows the decision to close Chard Youth Club due to a lack of funds.

    Ilminster Literary Festival says ticket sales this year were up 40 percent on last year. Just under sixteen hundred tickets were sold for the twenty-four speaking performances held across the eight-day festival.

    Former Yeovil Town player Marcus Stewart says he wants to continue raising money towards finding a cure for motor neurone disease. Marcus, who was diagnosed with MND 2-years ago, left his coaching role at Huish Park earlier this summer after his symptoms worsened.
