Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to interview in connection with a robbery in Ilchester. Vapes and alcohol were taken in the raid at the Costcutter store on Taranto Hill at around 8.30 pm on Sunday, January 7th. The man is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build, and was carrying a yellow Asda shopping bag.

The Leader of the Conservative group on Somerset Council, David Fothergill, has called for Lib Dem Leader, Sir Ed Davey, to stand down over his role in the Post Office Horizon computer scandal. He’s accused Ed Davey of failing to support innocent Post Office employees when he was Post Office Minister between 2010 and 2012. Sir Ed claims he was lied to by Post Office management, but Councillor Fothergill says that’s no excuse and that he should step down.

The Council promised that work building the cycle route along Lyde Road would be finished by Christmas, having earlier said it would be mid October. The route between Sandringham Road and Camborne Street was originally scheduled to take only five weeks to build.
