    Plans have been submitted to build thirty-one new homes in Charlton Horethorne, near Sherborne. Paintings, sculptures, fixtures and fittings from Dillington House in Ilminster that closed in September are being auctioned at the end of the month. The search is on for old cine footage of the Yeovil to Taunton railway line for a new film being made about the line...and more.

    Plans have been submitted to build 31 new homes in Charlton Horethorne, near Sherborne. Land off Harvest Lane would be used for the development which would also include two commercial buildings and a children's play area. According to the Somerset Council’s Planning portal, sixteen residents in Charlton Horethorne are currently objecting to the plans.

    A 'Bowl for Health' programme has been launched in Ilminster to promote physical and mental well-being in the local community. The scheme, which is free to join, runs each Tuesday at Ilminster Bowling Club. Those taking part will be shown the basics of playing bowls and have the chance to make new friends.

    An auction of items from Dillington House in Ilminster is being held at the end of the month. The sale will include paintings, fixtures and fittings, sculptures, and other effects. Items can be viewed this coming weekend on Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th of October. The auction will be held the following day, Monday the 30th, starting at 9 am.

    Plans have been submitted to build a further eight industrial units at Cadbury Business Park in North Cadbury. In their application that will be decided by Somerset Council, the applicants Brickcourt Ltd say a pond and new landscaping will be created on the site to help reduce the flood risk. 

    Trainees at Leonardo Helicopters in Yeovil have presented a cheque for £22,000 to the Somerset-based charity, Promise Works, which supports disadvantaged children and young people. The money was raised through bucket collections and with Trainees from Leonardo taking part in the Yeovil Half Marathon.

    The search is on for old cine footage of the Yeovil to Taunton railway line for a new film being made about the line. Local filmmaker, Phil Lilly says his documentary will only work if he finds people with footage of the old Yeovil Town and Hendford stations and steam trains running on the line. Phil is appealing for anyone with old movies of the Yeovil to Taunton line to contact him.
