Police inquiries are continuing after two people were stabbed in Chard at the weekend. It happened near the Sainsbury’s store on Holyrood Street in the early hours of Saturday. A police cordon was set up in Pig Lane and around Sainsbury's and five people were arrested. The two people who received stab injuries were taken to hospital.
A Somerset-based animal charity is asking people to consider carefully before adopting a pet. It follows a 120 percent increase in unwanted animals left with the Somerset Dogs and Cats Home. The charity says people often overlook how much it costs to look after an animal.
