    Yeovil Town get another chance tonight to clinch promotion from National League South when they play away against Truro. The Glovers need just one point from their three remaining fixtures to secure the league title. Manager, Mark Cooper is telling his players to ignore all the noises off the pitch and to just get the job done.

    Citizens Advice in Somerset says people are continuing to struggle with the cost of living. It comes despite figures from the Financial Conduct Authority showing the number of people finding paying their bills difficult fell by three-and-a-half million in January, compared to the same month last year,  

    A farmer who admitted to polluting the Fivehead River has been fined £5,000. Daniel Macey of Underhill Farm near Taunton said he had an issue with a silage clamp, which led to effluent entering the river. The Environment Agency sampled the water after a member of the public reported the incident.

    Local internet provider, Wessex Internet has won a major government contract to deliver a service of full fibre broadband to homes and businesses in Crewkerne, Ilminster and Bruton. The contract, worth £33.5 million, is part of the government’s £5 billion mission to bring digital connectivity into hard-to-reach areas.

    Some of England’s loudest voices will be heard in Yeovil later this month. Yeovil’s annual town crier competition, hosted by town crier David Recardo takes place on Saturday, April 20th, with fourteen town criers competing.

    Nether Compton near Sherborne has been voted as one of the country’s prettiest villages. Nether Compton, which has a population of just over 400, is included by the website Conde Nast's Traveller on a list of twenty of the UK’s most beautiful villages. They marked out Nether Compton for having a strong sense of community, and unparalleled views of the Dorset landscape.
