    Former Yeovil Town player, Anthony Barry, has been confirmed as assistant coach to the newly appointed England Manager, Thomas Tuchel. Barry played for the Glovers as a midfielder for 2 seasons from 2006 to 2008. The 38-year-old struck up a relationship with Tuchel during their time at Chelsea before the pair took up position at Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. 

    Somerset Council is making £3.8 million available to support families in greatest need this winter. The money has been provided through the government’s Household Support Fund and can be claimed for food and fuel costs. It will also be used to provide food vouchers to children eligible for Free School Meals during school holidays and to support hard-to-reach rural communities with warm hubs and access to food banks.

    A cash machine that was broken beyond repair during a robbery in Crewkerne is to be replaced. The Nationwide has submitted a planning application to install a new cash machine outside its premises at 12 Market Street in Crewkerne.

Appearing before local magistrates, Vijaya Bhaskar Malapati, who runs Reddy’s News on Priorswood Place pleaded guilty to selling a disposable cherry Elf Bar to a 15-year-old earlier this year.

The holiday rental site Vrbo has picked out 10 natural phenomena that holidaymakers should see next year, including the Starling murmurations that can be witnessed most days on the Somerset Levels.
