Yeovil Hospital has paid £3,000 in compensation after failing to follow its own protocols to get consent to take a patient's DNA. Stuart Brown complained that his genetic data was taken without him giving informed consent while he was in a coma.

Repairs to the A30 on the Devon-Somerset border are finally underway after nearly three years of waiting. Since July 2021 motorists travelling on the A30 have had to contend with temporary traffic lights at Crawley Farm, near Yarcombe. The lights were installed following a major landslip, with motorists facing delays ever since. The repairs are due to be completed and the lights removed by the end of November.

A pop-up Green Shop will open in Ilminster on Saturday for one day only. The Great Big Green Swap Shop will sell clothes, books, toys, and bric-a-brac, as part of the Ilminster Midsummer Experience Festival from the Sweet Surprise on Silver Street.
