Officers from two police forces are looking for a wanted man who was last seen in Somerton at the weekend. Shane Walsh is suspected of a number of assaults and thefts of vehicles. He's described as slim, white, 31 years old, and 5' 6” tall with brown hair. Police say he may be injured after a car he was believed to be driving was involved in an accident. Police say not to approach him but to call 999.

Police patrols are being stepped up in Castle Cary following an increase in ‘anti-social’ driving. Anti-social driving is racing, making excessive noise, playing loud music, and wheel spinning. Police are also working on educating drivers about the dangers and consequences of ‘anti-social’ driving.

Plans have been outlined to build new living quarters at RNAS Yeovilton. A planning application has been submitted to Somerset Council to build new single-living accommodation in an area known as 'Fulmar Block' at the air base.

A petition was signed by 230 people asking for the restriction extension which should be implemented during the first quarter of 2024.

A Somerset charity that promotes motorbike safety is increasing the number of free workshops it holds. ‘DocBike’ is working in partnership with Somerset Road Safety to put on the "Biker Down" courses.

Two charities have been presented with cheques for £1500 by Chardstock Vintage Tractor and Machinery Club. The money was raised by club members at fixtures, including vintage ploughing and mowing events, and was given to Cancer Research UK and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
