Volunteers are needed to support young people in care in Somerset.
This could be by providing them with friendship and advice to help them through difficult times.
The role involves providing fun and building memories for the young person and supporting them when making important life-changing decisions.
Somerset County Council, who are making the appeal for new volunteers, says young people in care can be vulnerable and may need good company and a friendly face, as we all do when times are tough.
They say the Independent Visitors Scheme exists to support young people in ways the care system can’t, as a friend, an ally, and someone to speak up for the young person when they need to be heard.
