Police are appealing for witnesses to a ‘hit and run’ in Henstridge in which an 8-year-old boy was knocked off his scooter. It happened in Furge Lane at 5 pm on Thursday, March 13th when the boy was struck by a car and the driver drove off without stopping. The boy was treated for superficial injuries at the scene. The driver of the car was later traced to Sherborne where he was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
